Quota beneficiaries invade open category

Ref:TNN, Aug 15,2008
Chennai : Communities covered by the reservation regime have advanced far enough to make deep inroads into the open category in medical admissions in the state. Statistics for MBBS admissions in the state this year show that almost 89% of the open seats have been cornered by candidates enjoying reservations. Out of 1368 seats, only 47 seats ( 3.4% overall) were available for open category candidates.
If our friend Mr Rai is reading this, he can believe that 50% reservation is only on paper. I had written somewhere that 70-80% of total workforce is occupied by quota beneficiaries but Mr Rai was not willing to accept this figure. Our coming generations ( Sawarn ) must note all these developments. On one side, we have to continue working hard and on the other, try by all your means to remove quota system. We should not do anything which may cause damage to our Sawarn brethren.

It's the need of the time that all the Castes in the UNRESERVED category i.e. the GENERAL Castes in India gather in a single common platform to discuss these things.

FYI...

70 to 80% of Upper caste are financially sound or atleast are in upper middle class level

and

70 to 80% from the llower castes like SC/STs, are financially poor and below poverty line...

Definitely. there is a need for Reservation in India as lower caste people were restricted in the past... However, the fruits of this good cause are enjoyed by 20% of lower caste people who are well settled financially...

So, these 20% of lower castes should not be included in the reservation & the 20-30% poor from upper castes should be given equal priority with the lower castes...

Because removing reservation system from India seems to be impossible, it is better to demand 50% seats reserved for general category candidates, at least for now.
Why...!?! When you are confident that every one from the upper caste are INTELLIGENTS & MERIT students and EVERYONE from lower caste are illiterates and below average students then don't you have the confidence that you can fill all 50% seats with upper caste...

100%-50%=50%

There is a hidden reservation for generals too i.e. 100%-50%=50%-for general category even though their population is just 20%(at the most). So it is unfair that only 50%(or whatever may be it is) is there for sc/sc/obc/minorities while there populations is 80%.hahaha!!!!!!!!
100%-50%=50%

hahaha... good one...

U r right it is there and it is equally true that they are very few and they are also oppressed and tortured alongwith reserved category people by the rich upper caste for decades. So u should use your surname as 'Bharat' or 'bhartiya' or 'hindustani' etc. instead of ur caste-then u will be caste free or will get a new caste for free that's 'Bharat' or 'bhartiya' or 'hindustani' etc.
Bro! "Bharat" or "Bhartiya" is practically not possible and/or little confusing... Why dont we remove first & last names like Sharma, Varma, Mishra, Malhotra, Reddy, Ayer, Yadav, whatever it is...

We will have our father's name as surname... Say instead of Rahul Gandhi, the name would be "Rajeev Rahul" or "R Rahul"... No Gandhi... Now, see there is no caste... This kind of name system is there in Tamilnadu...

Now the question is, how many of you are ready to sacrifice your Surnames / Last names for the nation...!?!
