The concept of reward is a good idea, but should not be tagged to Lokpal as it could distract Lokpal from it its main job of tackling corruption. Mind you, corruption is so well spread out in our society that it will be a herculean, nay, well-nigh impossible, task for Lokpal to deal with all that. It will be a 24x7 job for Lokpal. We should allow it to concentrate its total energy on tackling corruption only. Let us not burden him with rewarding the whistle blowers. That job can be done by others. After all there are other agencies also in the country. Anna himself is keen on decentralizing powers. Concentration of it all in one hand or institution could prove to be counterproductive. In any case, there is already provision for this and is being implemented at various levels variously. Nonetheless, the idea of reward is a good one.
