for BDS (38 seats), BAMS (78 seats)* and B. Pharm. (33 seats)

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India Entrance Test for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2011 SCREENING and PMT-2011 MAIN, and for BDS (38 seats), BAMS (78 seats)* and B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses in ONE stage:
PMT-2011 SCREENING shall be held on Sunday, the 8th May 2011 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres to screen candidates for eligibility to appear in PMT-2011 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 12th June 2011 at Varanasi Centre only. For BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm. courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2011 SCREENING only.Admission to BDS will be subject to approval by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

ELIGIBILITY : QUALIFICATIONS - Passed Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS – a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% for General-PC candidates and 40% marks for OBC*/SC/ST and respective PC candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. – a minimum of 60% marks for General / OBC and respective PC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS: M.B.B.S.(84 seats) : General - 42; OBC* – 23; SC – 13 and ST – 6; BDS (38 seats): General – 19; OBC* – 10; SC – 6 and ST – 3; BAMS (78 seats) : General – 36; Foreign National – 3; OBC* – 21; SC – 12 and ST – 6; B.Pharm. (33 seats): General – 17; OBC* – 9; SC – 5 and ST – 2. Three percent seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates on horizontal basis in the above courses.
*Non-Creamy layer OBC only.

AGE: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2011 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1995 and on or before 31st December, 1986 need not apply).

Sale of Application Form: 03.01.2011 to 28.02.2011* from the designated branches of Bank of Baroda as mentioned below:
* Application Form can be obtained from Bank of Baroda, BHU Branch, S.S. Hospital, Varanasi upto 07.03.2011.

Application Form can be obtained:
(a) BY CASH : Rs. 1200/- for GEN/OBC and Rs. 800/- for SC/ST candidates from the following branches of Bank of Baroda.
(1) VARANASI – (i) BHU - S S Hospital Branch, (ii) Ram Katora Branch, (iii) Orderly Bazar Branch (2) DELHI – (i) Parliament Street Branch, (ii) Nehru Place Branch, (iii) Chowk Shakti Nagar Branch (3) KOLKATA – College Street Branch (4) LUCKNOW – Charbagh Branch (5) HYDERABAD – Main Branch, ABIDS Circle* (6)JAIPUR – DCM Branch (7) BHOPAL – TT Nagar Branch** (8) PATNA –* Sri Krishnapuri (9) MUMBAI – Shivaji Park (10) CHENNAI – Mount Road (11) BHUBANESWAR – Main Branch (Bapuji Nagar).

(b) BY POST : From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1300/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 900 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of "The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU" payable at Varanasi. Application form will be sent by Speed / Registered Post.

However, Institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application form must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC (write candidate's name and address on the back of DD). Two self-addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm ´ 6 cm size must also accompany it. The requisition for PMT Application Form should be superscribed "Request for Application Form for PMT-2011, BHU".

Last date of requisition for PMT form by post is 21.02.2011. Application Forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi-221005 can be obtained by POST only and not in person upto 21.02.2011.

LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM : Application form duly completed must be sent through Registered Post so as to reach THE DIRECTOR (PMT CELL), INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, VARANASI-221 005 latest by 09.03.2011.

Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted. Foreign Nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS/BAMS courses. They may seek admission through the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by Friday, the 15.07.2011.
