Yesterday I was in conversation with a top UP GOVT.official regarding corruption.He belongs to family of ARMY OFFICERS and POLICE OFFICERS.He said that the pay and emoulments he gets from the Govt.is quite enough to live a decent life,but he has to take bribe because he has to pass on certain amount to his seniors to retain his position and work smoothly,other-wise he will be transferred to some remote town from lucknow where his children will not get proper education nor he will have city facilities.When I asked him for the solution he honestly and simply said that once there is no corruption even he will have no choice but to accept transfer to any place,if he has to continue with his job.
