Combating Corruption
Fighting corruption is not straight forward and not so easy too. However, it is not without a solution, especially with wider public awareness of the problem. Though, the public education and dissemination of information are among the most significant functions of civil society organizations, they are also trying to be at the forefront of efforts to combating corruption, playing significant role in articulating popular interests in public and monitoring government performance. Media and new technologies have radically improved public access to information. Even though, the civil society organization, the emerging new political front, and media are making corruption a public issue and challenging government to address it, these are being fizzle out within no time! “Clean Chit”. Are the civil society and emerging new political front lacking the means to generate public pressure? If this is so, new strategies must be formulated!
