The Govt of Delhi NCR hires teachers on contract basis. The decision of selecting the candidates is left to the Principal of govt schools. Mis-using this power, the Principals are selecting their own relatives as contract teachers even if they are not qualified. While actually qualified top-merit candidates are rejected for fake reasons.

In many of the govt schools, the daughter, son, son-in-law, daughter-in-law etc. all are selected as contract teachers. Some of them do not even qualify based on the age and education for being a teacher. These selected teachers do not go to school regularly and just get the cheque at the end of the month.

My son applied for a contract teacher post in Yamuna Vihar govt school where he was told to bring a birth date affidavit, although he had class 10th certificate from CBSE. Same day, he went to district court and had his birthdate affidavit made. At 4PM, principal of school told him they have already selected a candidate you are late. the selected candidate was principal's own son-in-law as shown on the edudel.nic.in website.
