Well, financial status does matter. However, a backward category poor family and a general category poor family should get the same preference. There is no mechanism to check this. Moreover, when all are considered equal in a democratic society, why is their reservation at all. There can be sponsorship, incentives and other ways for the poor.

However, we need to accept it that rules are made according to convenience. We cant book our leaders as they themselves make rules with deft clauses and sections. The supreme court, last year ruled out any quotas for the creamy layer, saying that those with salary of 2.5 lakh or less per annum can get reservation. A year later, recently the politicians have managed to pass a bill wherein people from backward classes with an annual salary of 4.5 lakhs can avail reservation. A general pool family whose head works in a PSU gets lesser. Is their any reservation for him?

Is their any rationale in the above decision? Is this justified? Isnt it shocking and instigating? It gets even worse when i think, I can't do anything against this, except using some swear words! We need some lawyers to look for wayz out. I am not a specialist on this!
