To make a sweeping statement like ‘reservation is the root cause of corruption’ without any empirical evidence is rude, crude and weird. The founders of the Constitution thought deeply and deliberated the issue thoroughly for many years and finally included it in the Constitution for untouchables and Adiwasis who were badly in need of upliftment . Later on it became a political tool with advent of Mandal Commission and subsequent inclusion of OBCs into that list. Now Gujar Community has been agitating for S.T status. Rajasthan Government gave some reservation to the Gujar Community. Jat Community has been also agitating for reservation. In UP and Haryana they have been given some facilities. You mean to say that all these communities are corrupt and the remaining communities are honest? Read the old, medieval and modern history of India and find out for yourself, how untouchables and Adiwasis were treated in this country? What deprivation they have gone through? They were treated worse than animals. Don’t such people deserve reservation of not? We are allowing safai kamgars to carry night soil on their heads. Is it not inhuman? Despite ‘prevention of Atrocities against SCs and STs Act 1991, most brutal Atrocities are taking place against them. Don’t they deserve justice and fair play? and be brought into the main stream of the society? Otherwise, what remedies do you have to eradicate these worst evils afflicting our society? Don’t you realize caste and discrimination based on caste have been eating into the vitals of our country and obstructing its progress?
