Sir Winston Churchill. . .argument against granting india / Pakistan Independence. . . .

"Power will go to rascals, rogues, freebooters. . . .
All leaders will be of low caliber & men of straw. . .
They'll have sweet tongues & silly hearts. . .
They will fight amongst themselves for power & the two countries will be lost in poli...tical squabbles. . . .
A day would come when even air & water will be taxed."

Churchill could predict this because he knew what kind of political set-up, bureaucratic and Education system they are leaving behind.

He wrote this 64 years ago!!!! & he was right its happening.

Do you remember Lord Mekale ? There may be a few who may not have even heard Mekale's name and may ask who was he or who is he. The reason is very simple. Daily our so called educationists or intellectuals accuses him, in one part of the country or other, for bad education system made by him and is said to be running still in the country. Lord Mekale is still accused that he made such a system where only " Babu's" (CLERKS) can be produced and the country may become crippled and generations can be made of no use.One may be very proud that we are at least perfect in accusing. Only because CONGRESS got the maximum chances to rule in the country it was mainly accused for not changing the system made during British rule.

Our leaders responsible for the education are trying their level best to prove that Indians are beggars and "bhukhamare". In many way's they have succeeded. The same massage is given by them to the world community. Though, Mekale's system was accuses of producing "Babu's" but our present primary education system is producing beggars and bhukhakhares. MID DAY MEEL scheme will be only remembered in this regard.

The scheme is foreign added and by getting funds for the same, government has given a message to the world society that we are not capable to give even proper food to our children who will lead this country some day. Food, education and medical facility are the prime responsibilities of the government.

A few reasons why education in India is given less importance in some areas are as follows:

*80% of schools are managed by the government. Private schools are expensive and out of reach of the poor.

*More hands to earn remains the mentality amongst many families and therefore little kids are set out to fend for the family over going to school to garner an adequate education, in the most literal sense of the word.

*Infrastructure facilities at schools across rural areas and in slums dispense very poor quality of education.

*The teachers are not well qualified and therefore not well paid and therefore are not willing to work hard enough.
