Corrupt parliamentarians
The Prime Minister talks of supremacy of the parliament, rule of law etc... No one can deny it. But is it really so when our parliament with its corrupt parliamentarians has owefully failed in maintaining rule of law and has been a mute witness to our country being destroyed by the bonfire of corruption consuming the hapless 'aam aadmi' who has voted them to be parliamentarians? |

The supremacy of Parliament can not be challenged, yet we must be prudent enough to differentiate between the Parliament and its members. The sanctity, dignity and supremacy of the parliament is mirrored in the deeds and acts of its members. If their behavior is such as is seen presently, then they are only defaming the temple of democracy. People still have respect for parliament but these politicians have spoiled the image of Parliament.

while the PM talks of supremacy of parliament, he seems to forget that it is this parliament only where all the scams took place and that too under the Prime Ministers nose. a day ago Amar Singh came out yelling Anna and his 5 monkeys and said they are all corrupt. and today the police has chargesheeted Amar Singh. and the same Amar Singh is member of the Standing Committee in which the PM is adamant the jan lokpal bill will be sent..
god save the parliament and the parliamentarians. god help the citizens |

Yes Swamy, I agree with you.
This is the problem with ABSTRACTIONS. The Government uses an ABSTRACTION called the "Respect of the Parliament" and the "Respect of the Chair" and many others to shield itself from many MISCONDUCTS that it has committed in REALITY. They sell these concepts to us, and we Indians buy it, without considering whether the Price we are paying for such Purchases is Justified or Not. We have to stop buying into abstractions, or even if we do, we need to do so after careful consideration OF THE IMPACT OF SUCH ABSTRACTIONS ON REALITY. At this time, as I see it, we simply don't do that. One way of looking at how the REALITY and the ABSTRACTION are different would be to apply what Kishan Chand Maloo above has presented - ".....yet we must be prudent enough to differentiate between the Parliament and its members. The sanctity, dignity and supremacy of the parliament is mirrored in the deeds and acts of its members.....". Nicely put, isn't it ? Summit. Last edited by Summit Ensign; 08-25-2011 at 08:15 AM |
