Dont know what to do in such situation

I have no idea how to react in such situation where officer ask for bribe to do his duty.

Last action which I could do is: Give Bribe and get it done.

but this is not what we would like to do.

So what is that we can/should do?

Currently as things stand - you either bribe him/her or wait till he/she has a change of heart and does the job, which basically means not having anything done.

This, unfortunately is why most people pay up - its not that they like bribing, but its about getting things done (for their own or others' good). For example, take someone trying to set up a business - he has to stuff so many mouths with notes before his business can start. He doesn't have a choice - either pay or get your papers stuck (possibly for ever), so its a question of survival for him (at least that's true for all small businessmen). And this is what these blood-suckers know very well. Its a cheap sort of black-mail/extortion - pay up or forget your business. Problem is, the system is so self-serving that even if a few people join hands, nothing much will happen. All they will end up doing is shouting against a wall!

Unfortunately this is what one Indian does to another - in a "free", "democratic" country!! This is utter disrespect for a fellow citizen - a complete ignorance and voilation of a person's dignity & liberty to be denied a service that is legitimately his or her right, till he/she pays a bribe. At the root of it is lack of self-respect resulting in complete and auabashed shamlessness: No self-respecting person would ask for a bribe, no matter what his/her salary is.

Lokpal bill will go some way in bringing this under control, but what is needed is an overall remedy - where, for a start each Indian first learns the value of "self-respect" and then each Indian respects another Indian's self-respect, before things start to improve.

corruption inindia is such a deep rooted fact that to end coruption you need an independent organisation like they have in hongkong.it is called icac.independent commission against corruption.it functions thru three major deps.corruption prevention.corruption investigation and operationsdeatails of this world famous organisation can be seen at their website icac.com.hk
what we need is a set up like this-i am sure india against corruption organisers would have heard about this organisation.if not i suggest they view this website .icac in hongkong has received international recognition for fightiing corruption not only in public sector but also in private sector.

Corruption is inside. It is not outside. You can not have both things. I will keep my greed but my representative can not their keep greed. It is hypococracy. It is about conscience. It is about character. How can lok pal bill eradicate coorruption if corruption is latent in you in form of your greed. What is the gaurantee that the boy carrying the flag on the steet will not fall to lure of lucre if he becomes a paliamentarian tomorrow. Go inside. It is about unexplored right brain. It is about ancient systems. Balance your left egoistic brain with selfless right brain. An unbalanced populous can not have balanced representatives.

boys or men can open dress so that the one who is asking bribe may feel ashamed.. or take a video or record his conversation and report in anti corruption commitee or argue him and speak of rules. if caught by police men, dont pay bribe, pay d actual amount of fine.

People..I don't think that we r helpless in bribe case.certainly the act of making that person feel guilty by suffering on my own behalf is redundant to me.
I would suggest that
1) Report in advance to ACB..atleast 40% of them are good and will help
2)Try to take a audio or video clip and submit the same to police or ACB
3)Try mass number group to just make the person seeking bribe understand his mistake..don't indulge in physical violance.
4)Periodically the police/CBI forwards a phone number 2 all people , to be used to make report of government person seeking bribe.

Please do give dis a thought
