Reservation for upper caste

A fresh trend is emerging among upper caste which needs to be debated. Marathas who belong to upper caste in Maharashtra are out demanding 25% reservation in educational institutes and government jobs. I think this demand is fully justified. Other caste from forward class should also put up such demands before governments in power. Recently, a convention by All India Brahmin Mahasabha was held in Pune, Maharashtra who just fell short of demanding reservations but indicated that it can go for such demands in future. We have to hold on to 50% seats otherwise SC/ST/OBC and other communities will eat into this 50% seats too. If reservations can not be done away with, this is the right step to counter reservation system.

There are many areas where the so called upper casts are the poorest among the lot. But that does not justify for reservation. We should be for eradication of reservation and the cast system as such in the long run. A caste-free society , after 50 or hundred years would emerge only if we start now.

Reservation (for the so called "forward" castes ) may be accepted tactfully as a sort term solution only. In Assam, the "Kalita"s are the main non-Brahmin general caste & some leaders are demanding reservation facility for them also.

Because removing reservation system from India seems to be impossible, it is better to demand 50% seats reserved for general category candidates, at least for now.

There is a hidden reservation for generals too i.e. 100%-50%=50%-for general category even though their population is just 20%(at the most). So it is unfair that only 50%(or whatever may be it is) is there for sc/sc/obc/minorities while there populations is 80%.hahaha!!!!!!!!

Thumbs up

U r right it is there and it is equally true that they are very few and they are also oppressed and tortured alongwith reserved category people by the rich upper caste for decades. So u should use your surname as 'Bharat' or 'bhartiya' or 'hindustani' etc. instead of ur caste-then u will be caste free or will get a new caste for free that's 'Bharat' or 'bhartiya' or 'hindustani' etc.

only poor needs reservation rights

Gentle men we can see poverity in all over our country due to corrupted system. Poverty does not belong to certain cast. We are in 21th century but still in a system of 1947 and its before. This is the time to root out the problem not to find solution of the problem. Any facility given to any cast is sure to unhappy another cast. It results in castism which is not good for united Bharat Varsha. So all of us are highly requested to go for reservation only for poor, encapable and ladies................
