Because of the presence of some such people, India continues to command some respectability in the comity of nations and continue to espouse hopes of some good happening to the country. Examples are plenty. But the problem is--power is not in their hands. Power has passed into the hands of those about whom Winston Churchil had this to say "Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues and free booters. Not a bottle of water or a loaf of bread will be free and the blood of their hungry millions will be on the head of Attlee. These are the men of straw of whom no trace will be found after a few years. They will fight amongst themselves and India will be lost in political squabbles." This movement against corruption is a beacon of light, just as JP movement in the seventies carried a beacon of light. But it faded out soon because the people who carried the legacy of JP movement committed fraud on the gullible people of India and left them in the lurch. One hopes it will be different this time and I am certainly pinning my hope on this belief with firm conviction because the people spearheading the movement are credible and respectable.
