1. First of all don’t be in any illusion that without the power to rule you will be able to bring reforms which we are contemplating’
2. Second the “POWER WILL NOT COME AS ALMS, IT NEEDS TO BE WRESTED”
3. The task is arduous and difficult but from some points the starting needs to be done.
4. My suggestion for the political choice the we plan to give to the people of this nation
1) Set minimum qualification for a candidate to be an MP,MLA or any representative body. This can be diluted as per the requirement for example for gram panchayat it could be 10th while for an MP it should be at least graduate/post graduate
2) Have an entrance test covering areas like Indian constitution, political science, Social science from a prescribed course followed by a group discussion /public debate on issue of public importance where the candidate is given a problem and is asked to prepare a business plan as to how (with the resources given to him or her) he /she will be able to provide solution to that problem. The one whose plan is the best should be given more weight age.
3) The candidate should have stayed in the area from where he/she is seeking candidature for at least 5 years ( to know the problems of that area). As in corporate and banks we have KYC( know your clients we should have KYCP( Know your constituency and people)
4) Preference should be given to the people who have distinguished career in
 Government services
 Corporate Services
 Eminent Lawyers
 SC/High Court Judges
 Young and Dynamic graduates from top notch institutes who are willing to forgo the cozy corporate jobs etc.
 Educationists and Wealthy Industrialist who have a track record of Corporate social responsibility
5) Selection of candidates should be chosen well before elections (at least 1 year in advance in case of lok Sabah and 6 months in case of assembly) so that the people can know whom they are voting can ask questions, check background etc.
6) The candidate if selected will have to leave his/her profession( professional practice etc) till the time he/she is the member of any house
7) Once the candidate is selected he has to do “QUARTERELY OPEN HOUSE SESSION” in his her constituency ( Jan –Darbar) where people will come with their problems and a commitment should be given in terms of time frame for the solution of the problem.
8) Each elected members performance will be reviewed after 1 year ( Performance appraisal) and warning should be given to the erring members to get on track in specific period of time.If the ways are not mended then the candidate will have to be recalled.
9) Person found abusing his power at office will be barred from entering any public service for a period specified( may be 5 year, 10 years or life ban as the case may be)
......STILL THINKING ALOUD MORE COMING...JAI HO
