Political Illiteracy

In India there is the major lacking of Political literacy. One can ask what do you mean by political literacy or illiteracy. Political illiteracy in simple terms means people’s lack of understanding about the Governance mechanism given under Constitution of India. We all have to understand that for choosing a Parliamentarian, one cannot expect him to address the local issues, however people have to ask them what are their views regarding foreign policy, national matters etc. As Team Anna may a times raised the question, that why not referendums should be introduce in India political system, but whether the people of this country are ready and fully equipped to answer the referendums.
Now supremacy of Parliament, totally illogical, as according to Indian Constitution only the people of this country are supreme. However the problem is of the “concept of majority” in Indian Politics, whenever you point a figure to a Government they reply you in simple term as they have the majority they can’t be wrong, which recently Team Anna also believed, while deciding the question regarding political alternative. But unfortunately this does not means that what ever the majority says is always right.
One has to understand the nature of this country, which one can understand it very simply while standing behind the stop line at a traffic signal. If the signal is not patrolled by the police than from auto driver to the person sitting in expensive car or the truck or bus driver or a college student no one will stop. Why because police is not performing its duty, please don’t it is because the people does not respect the law. First the people of this country have change than only any thing can be changed
