Some Action along with the LOKPAL bill

It is not at all surprising that people from all walks of life have joined in hundreds of thousands to support Annaji. It only shows how desperate and suppressed Indians were. They were waiting for something like this to happen to vent their anger and frustration.

The turnout all over the country has been mind boggling to say the least.
However the movement should not end with the eventual passing of the Lokpal bill.
It is taken for granted that the bill be passed but the bill or the Act alone will not root out corruption. It will of course be the start of a long battle against corruption.

I strongly feel that the peoples movement must spread to where the corrupt are active.Everyone knows where it is most rampant. For instance the police station, the sub registrar's office, the commercial tax department, excise and customs, the municipal corporation,RTO,water and electricity board, and the list goes on.Individuals are scared to open their mouth or voice protest fearing retaliatory action from the concerned department officials. If all the people who came out in support of Anna can form groups and assemble at these identified offices where corruption is rampant then the officials will be scared to demand and collect bribes. If such voluntary groups go inside the offices and start questioning the officials as to why some work is not getting done, then there will be visible difference in the way they work.

Nextly society has become indifferent to the corrupt person. There is respect for money and not how it was earned. The corrupt must be shamed in public and ostracised.Suppose our group as above catches a bribe taking official, then he must be paraded in the locality with a board hung around his neck saying "I AM CORRUPT".I am sure this will have a moral fear with the corrupt as they will have no face to go round the area with their head held high again.

People must be vigilant and there is strength in unity.Let groups of people stand outside offices with the badge "I am ANNA" itself will put the fear of GOD in the minds of the corrupt. They can also hold a banner outside the office saying "this is a corruption free office and we will ensure that".

So let us all look at how we can utilise the strength of numbers to fight corruption on a daily basis apart from holding candle light vigil and signing up etc.
