Jan Lokpal deadlock

Hello friend,

Today the news channels reported that many of the protestors who were fasting with Anna Hazare have been hospitalized.

Hence the members of the civil society need to clearly state their demands before the Indian Government once again and thus initiate the communication process. Anna's life is at stake.

The Indian Government had clearly stated that Anna Hazare and his associates are outsiders. (They are not the members of either houses of the Parliament i.e. Rajya Sabha or the Lok Sabha) This makes the protest staged by Anna Hazare and his associates unconstitutional. This is the basic reason why Anna Hazare's movement is not gaining nationwide support.

Rajya Sabha
__________

There is already a provision made in the Indian Constitution to take care of the situation that has arisen today. The President of India can nominate prominent citizens of the country to the Rajya Sabha. Hence Anna Hazare can be nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil. Thus Anna Hazare's proposal will become legal. It will thus compel the parliament to consider his Proposal.

This could be possible if there is a vacancy for a nominated member in the Rajya Sabha. It could be created by the resignation of any of the members who has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. The question is, Who will make this supreme sacrifice? We need to pursue the nominated members to make way for Anna Hazare.

Lok Sabha
_________

The members of the Lok Sabha are elected from the various constituencies in India. A majority of people elect them, Right?

If the majority of people from all the consituencies could convey the message that they have read the Lokpal Bill and also the Jan Lokpal Bill and that they are in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill. I think the Indian Government can be compelled to accept the Jan Lokpal Bill as drafted by the civil society.

The residents belonging to a particular constituency need to write the complete Lokpal Bill and also the Jan Lokpal Bill and in their own handwriting. They need to attach the documents that confirm their identity and send it to the Prime Minister's office in New Delhi.

The question now arises how would an illiterate person let the Indian Government know that he is in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

He could record his voice and mail it to the Govenment of India. But the Indian Government needs to specify the address and should hence be ready to collect these kind of responses.

This whole exercise will prove that the majority of Indian population is in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill. Thus not even the Indian Government will be able to stop it from getting passed in the Parliament of India.
