Thumbs up Un council declare gujarat is second best state govt...

The International council of UN has announced that , Gujarat government is the second best state government in the world. 10 years back they had 50,000 crores loan in world bank. But today they have deposited 1 lakh crore in world bank... see following link...

http://moveonthetop.blogspot.com/2011/02/modis-government-wins-un-award.html

it’s result of hard growth oriented work in Gujarat since last 10 years and that too against unwanted and hard national and international criticism… Modi proved as real development icon and international media forced to recognize this...

Mr. Tinucherian,
Thanks for your comment against my post at:
Un council declare gujarat is second best state govt...
What Modi did after occupying office in 2001 as under:
1. Revenue deficit was about 7000 cr now becomes revenue surplus state without imposing any additional tax. It was achieved by cut in govt. expenditure.
2. Dynamic and quick administration to run efficient Government.
3. He has stopped chairmanship post for politician and put real technical hand with full authority without political interference. Such step should follow by all the states and union govt. Keshubhai (recently left BJP) came out because he or his man did not getting any chairmanship for making money.
4. When Modi took the charge, GEB loss was about 2000 crores, but it started making profit in 2004/2005 onwards. This is one example. Many PSU’s started profit during his rule.
5. Huge MOU is not his achievement, his achievement is to provide better and efficient infrastructure and business friendly environment and investment bound to come as ultimate result.
6. Almost more than 95% villages have 24 hours power. This is not a small achievement.
7. Agricultural income increase from 14700 cr in 2001 to 96000 cr
8. Indian agricultural growth is 3 while Gujarat growth is 11%
9. In 2001, agricultural land was 108 lac hact but in 10 years 37 lac hact added and made 145 lac hact along with industrial growth
10. Horticultural sector, 61 lac MT to 181 lac MT
11. Milk prod increased by 68% in 10 years
12. Cotton production increase from 23 lac in 2001 to 1.23 cr. This is another white revolution.
13. Gujarat is the only state started Climate change dept.
14. Water level came up by 3 to 13 meter
15. Tourism sector growth 16% against India 10%
16. According to TOI survey Ahmedabad is most livable city
17. Whole India solar energy contribution 120 MW, but Gujarat alone produce 600 MW
18. Initiated canal solar energy
19. Asia biggest solar plant coming up in Kutch, (desert area)

regarding 2002 communal riot...

2002 riots are self reaction of the 59 people burned in the train coach where most of the people including upper middle class were on the road on mass base and police has its limitation to act strictly in that case. After few days riots were controlled, but however spread to some other places/villages and controlled thereafter. In the police firing many Hindu rioters were killed so it is wrong propaganda by wasted interest that it is state sponsored pogrom. If coach burning incident would have not occurred, riot was also not there.

Hope that the matter is clear to you...

Contradicting on UN award claims.

Hello, In my blog post, I am ONLY contradicting the facts and truth behind the propaganda of "UN awards Gujarat Government as the second best state in the world "

1) Government of Gujarat won the second prize in Category 1: Improving transparency, accountability and responsiveness in the public service. It was the Gujarat government’s initiative, “Statewide Attention on Grievances with Application of Technology (SWAGAT)” programme that had won United Nations Public Service Award (UNPSA) in 2010. So it is not essentially the entire Gujarat Government who was awarded here.

2) Govt of Gujarat won the above second prize in the Asia Pacific Region and not the entire world as claimed. There were 2 winners each in the 3 regions. Women Policy Division, Seoul Metropolitan Government, South Korea won the first prize in this category.

3)The same Category I award was received by Government of Andhra Pradesh (2007) and Government of NCT of Delhi (2005) initiatives earlier.

4) Several Indian State government initiatives have received these UNPSA awards in various categories over the years.

Thanks

Gentle men ! "What/who are UN,US,British to judge our progress..............Why we feel good when praised by UN,US,British? These three praised only for them who act according to their benefits. Can any one tell me - What benefits Gujrat Government had/has given to above mentioned three bodies."
