Red face freed in 1947 but helpless till today.

Isn't it Ironic? When ever some thing like this happens as happened on 4th.june.11 we in whatever available source be it scribling on social sites, or in a group discussion, and now there's a trend of candle march for an hour..... We vent our frustration and anger out and that's it.
And after few days we'll forget everything.
And for the elections, its 3 long years. By that time most of us wouldn't even remember the date of this brutality.
And if by any chance some of us manage to remember it, the govt will play another game alike the nuclear deal..... And take my word most of our so called intelects would be the first one to support this govt... Intelects who right now are drafting the lokpal bill. I hope care has been taken to strengthen the lokpal because today supreme court is the most powerful authority still a DWARF in front of the Center. Hanging of Afjal guru still hasn't reached any decision yet, though ordered by the supreme judiciary.
All the rules, all the laws, n all force is just for the socialization of the common man so that it doesn't strays or barks back on the system..... And after all we helpless laymen will post a quote on this site, take a candle march, or to the outmost we would be arguing to ourselves.

Corruption grew into a Frankenstein because we chose to

Nothing is uncaused. If corruption acquired this stature, we are to squarely blame for this. We did not do our duty. We grew selfish and allowed things to go as they went. Never after independence did we put pressure on our elected representatives to deliver. We solicited favours, most of them out of turn favours. Our slavish attitude made us servile to our representatives who instead of becoming our servants became our masters. We allowed them to become our masters. When Nehru first declared that he would tie the corrupt to the nearest lamp post and flog him publicly, we just lapped it up and forgot about it. We did not insist that such a thing should be done. When VK Krishna Menon the then defence minister was allowed to get away with the jeeps scandal, we did not protest. Now this has become a Frankenstein and we are complaining and blaming others instead of looking inwards to do some introspection. We all want comforts of life. They come at a cost and corruption is the cost we pay.

There is no irony at all. The simple truth is--you reap what you sow. We sowed corruption, we are reaping the fruits of corruption. We have allowed it to grow when we should have nipped it in the bud. It is now our duty to fell this tree of corruption. The tree of corruption is huge and gigantic. If you have seen a movie called Godzila, you will know what I mean. The fight will need sacrifices from each one of us, not just from a select few. We have no right to demand sacrifices only from a handful. It is not their country alone. It is our country too and we too owe it something. In addition to supporting Anna Hazare and his team, we must exert pressure on individual MPs to behave else....Already Andhra MPs are putting pressure on their government. DMK is sulking and is likely to withdraw support. Prevail on SP, BSP and TMC MPs to withdraw support and bring down this government. Tell the MPs of BSP and SP that it is not enough to condemn government action. They are part of the government, hence responsible for what happened the other night. Ask TMC MPs to introspect and act. So long as this government remains in power and so long as these corrupt, inept, indifferent and swollen headed ministers remain in power, the fight will be a long and bitter one. The level of frustration may grow and may cause incalculable loss to the nation. And for god's sake, stop finding fault with those spearheading the movement. We must not lose sight of the immediate objective. Once that is achieved, we can think of other things. Let us not open too many fronts in one go because we would not be able to control them and the fight will peter out. We must focus our energy on the issue at hand and the issue is corruption.

You reap what you sow

Dear Sinha ji,

I agree to all the points . I think, It is the thoughts of millions that you manifested in letters. It was told that "Every people will get a government that they deserved". let our people start sowing the seeds for good at least from now onwards.

Corruption is there from PMO to Panchayathee raj offices in India. We can not expect that our ruling class MPs/ministers will close the roads of corruption for ever, through which they are traveling. opposition also will think twice as they will have to travel in future. That is the puzzle all about. A strong reform movement is needed to cleanse corruption from the political fabric of India. Waves with normal strength is not enough for this to happen. An anti corruption tremor of magnitude more than 9.5 is required. A subsequent tsunami waves of movements is needed to bring down the high ramparts, on the Forts of corruption that was built with the strong pillars of politician-criminal-corporates nexus in the Independent India. Peoples have a limited choice to select a Tom, Dick or Harry who has already been selected by their political masters/mistress. So, a corrupted A or criminal B will go to the the legislature for sure. They will sit together and select their leader to form a government (It will be a good team indeed !!!). In front of another former corrupt minister/politician (a governor who may be eligible for a DNA test and other tests...), they will take their oath. How can our nation expect good from such a government thus formed.

So now what?

Everyones corrupt n we are responsible for it. No ones refusing. But now what. I really want to get rid of all this but not by talking big and showing my oratory skills.
What to do n how to do. And as far strengthening the lokpal is concerned I still stick to it because I'm not a kind of believer that weaker foundations result in stronger structures. How'll it withstand earthquakes and errosions beneath.
What will the lokpal do if its decision is neglected or taken for granted. Without speed and stamina even Usain Bolt is a commoner. So without strength a lokpal is of no use and now I'm starting to believe that probably its actually the govt motive to divert people's attention from corruption and inflation and give the public a lollypop of a piloted lokpal.

Consistent and steadfast

If you have understood the ploy and design of the government, the half battle is won. The primary tool is the grasping of the problem. Once this is understood, it is easier to do the rest. Fortunately, we are blessed with people like Anna and Baba (despite his shortcomings) who can lead us out of this morass. But we have to be consistent and steadfast in our support to them. Baba unfortunately is beset with certain problems that he alone will have to grapple with; and once that is surmounted, he will be there with renewed energy. In the meantime, we already have the ultimatum of Anna Hazare. If he is forced to sit on dharna and fast from 16th August 2011, the countdown of this corrupt government should start from there and our duty will be to ensure that the countdown really begins on that day. We have to sacrifice some of our own comforts. We must not leave everything to Anna and his team. While Anna and his team will do the spadework, we have to be there in full force to extend our helping hand.

We have to be consistent and steadfast in our support.
