Post Team anna aliegation proved right that govt. Betrayed us and now whole country betrayed by govt...

It is surprising that almost all the opposition and even its allies opposing the lokpal bill in present form and insists for amendment… but govt. still adamant/rigid and not ready to amend the bill… this is shear arrogance on govt. part…and govt. solely responsible for not passing the bill…

Its shame on Indian parliament... with the behavior of ruling party… this is black day for Indian democracy… even more blacker than emergency days… shame on Dr. Manmohan singh… whose face can be read clearly that he was not willing to do this but he was helpless… once again he is proved as majboor PM…

Me too completely disapointed and totally agree with you. But looking at the overall debate, it can be said safely that the ruling party had reservations with the jan lokpal bill and came up with their own version of the lokpal bill, which was still a positive sign, not withstanding the effectiveness quality, but it would have benefited atleast 30-40% cases. But it would have been a start nonetheless. But what do you say about CPI? what do you say about BJP, with their sudden love for federalism? I think the whole parliament (ruling, opposition, neutrals) lost a historic opportunity. WHat would have happened if their was a Vote? ruling party would have lost, their would be effectively still no LOKPAL. BJP would have scored some point on congress. but still common people would have lost. So, still the hard questions need to be asked, this time to both ruling as well as opposition. Ruling party does not have a majority in RS, so without support from opposition, there cannot be a lokpal.

But the ammedments are not the same,
1. Some want federal powerful.
2. Some want CBI included
3. Some want CBI excluded completely
4. Some want PM included unconditionally.
5. some want PM excluded.
6. Some want corporates included.
7. Some want minority quota.
8. Some want minority representation.

I am sorry to say, it is a bigger scam than any scam by the whole political establishment. To attribute it to ruling party ONLY, is just shying away from the truth.
Majority want NO LOKPAL.

It is surprising that almost all the opposition and even its allies opposing the lokpal bill in present form and insists for amendment… but govt. still adamant/rigid and not ready to amend the bill… this is shear arrogance on govt. part…and govt. solely responsible for not passing the bill…

main opposition party like BJP and CPI have same view on federalism point since this bill was tabled and they have oppose with this point in loksabha also... so you cannot say sudden love for federalism... it is better not to have lokpal than such poor lokpal just for the sake and taking credit that we brought lokpal...

regarding the various amendment, with main opposition parties meeting can be solved and with majority can be passed...

of course its only scam of ruling party... it was planned for chaos and dont allow voting... have you any doubt?

What would have happened with voting? Ruling party lose it; but still no Lok Pal, right?
It was always a lokpal and lokayukta bill, both from Jan lokpal as well as lokpal bill POV. and why suddenly Lokpal was encroaching state powers/jurisdiction.

I wanted a lokpal, and i think team Anna/Kiran bedi also mentioned in some way or the other when she said, she liked Singhvi's speech. I still believe this current lokpal was a start. I might have low expectations, but i surely know something is better than nothing.
