ANNA HAZARE - GANDHIAN, or more INDIAN ?

Dear Friends,

I feel ANNA HAZARE might be MORE INDIAN then GANDHIAN.

And the Reasons -

(1) Hazare's NON-VIOLENCE is different from GANDHI's : I feel Hazare can distinguish between Violence and Patriotism, whereas Gandhi had them horribly mixed up.

The Proof ? Hazare always talks of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in glowing terms, referring to them as Patriots, whereas in Gandhi's opinion they were "Terrorists".

Further, he talks of them often, and with strong relevance, and not once or twice as mere lip service.

(2) Anna Hazare has a LESS CONTROVERSIAL life : In SIMPLICITY, he could beat GANDHI by miles - nay, LIGHT-YEARS :

True. First, it reflects in his great understanding and application of Non-Violence.

Second, he doesn't need to resort to such highly controversial methods regarding Sex and Brahmacharya as Gandhi did, including sleeping naked with women less than half his age, and at age 77 with his own grand-niece Manu aged 17 and wife of his grand-nephew, Abha aged 19, in order to test the purity of his soul. Don't believe it ? I found it hard too, but there's just too much evidence, including his own writings which were held secret till now, to negate it.

You may check out the following link for this :
Did our INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT suffer from UNDUE DELAY and LACK OF TRANSPARENCY ?
(P.S. : This Article is a series of links - you may check out all, or the ones that you're interested in.)

Hazare also does not have ashrams - he stays in a 8x10 room of a temple in extremely simple living conditions - he only has a bed, a thali and a glass.

And yes, he does not need to perform enemas on the ashramites or his followers as the other Gandhi did, striving for "inner purity" that he felt would "strengthen the Indian National Movement". Check out Google Search and YouTube.

Hazare insists that people with him have a non-controversial life - NISHKALANK JEEVAN; Gandhi would have failed this test. For Gandhi kept a close bond with Nehru, even after being fully aware of his unceremonious relationship with Edwina Mountbatten, wife of Viceroy Lord Mountbatten.

Therefore, I see, his simplicity is much more Indian, than Gandhian; for there were many more Seers, Sages and Saints in India that Achieved Purity of Soul and Heights of Spirituality without having to Resort to such Controversial Methods. One of them, that Anna Hazare himself talks a lot about, and regards as his Guru, is Swami Vivekananda.

There could be many more points of difference, but I urge you to find those yourself.

BUT VERY IMPORTANT : A WORD ON NON-VIOLENCE :

I firmly believe the sentiment of NON-VIOLENCE in India is not just One or Two Hundred Years Old, rather it has existed in our instincts and identity for Millenia.

The articles posted are not to incite you to resort to any kind of violence, rather they are intended to urge you to be more non-violent and peaceful.

They are to show you that NON-VIOLENCE is not "Some Leader-ian", but rather "INDIAN".

And non-violent you must remain, not just for the moment's sake, not necessarily for any Leader's sake but for your, mine and our sake; for the sake of this nation, for the sake of the movement that Annaji has shaken up our consciousness with...

Remember that mischevious elements, some of whom might even be inside our present government, may try to incite you to violence, for only then can they let loose their muscle-might to crush us.

So however much might they try to provoke you....stay calm....

You must remain Non-Violent for the Sake of INDIA.

If you are in any doubt, always remember - NON-VIOLENCE is not any "Leader-ian", but "INDIAN"...it is part of our identity, deep down within...and it has shown forth even in our greatest moments of adversity...so let that shine through again...

Best Wishes,

Summit.

Hey Peehu,

Great to have you back again.

I'm so happy you liked the post.

You know what - a lot of work remains for us. And big among them is to separate the overwhelming myth of Gandhi from India...and to put it in its proper perspective. Vested Interests have so interwoven him with India that a lot many people now think that India is Gandhi and Gandhi is India. Nothing could be farther from the truth. India is a lot - a lot - more than Gandhi. In fact I feel, Gandhi doesn't represent India even atom-size, or by a million light-years apart.

If you're looking for a leader that you can truly consider representative of India, study Subhash Chandra Bose. I'm confident you'd find him meet all your requirements, as many have. Here are a few reasons why -

(1) Subhash had a great and true understanding of India's greatness, for his guru and guiding star was none other than - Swami Vivekananda, the man who probably undisputedly would be the greatest Representative of Hinduism to the world. Vivekananda's knowledge went all the way to the Upanishads, the Cream of Indian Thought, and probably even beyond, and was not merely limited to the Ramayana as was Gandhi's. Vivekananda wanted to create a Great India, and not just a Ram-Rajya.

(2) Vivekananda, before he became so, was Naren, a highly educated young man, who attended Scottish Church College in Calcutta (Kolkata), and was thoroughly versed in Western philosophy and thought. It was Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, of Dakshineshwar Fame, who identified the terrific genius in him, introduced him to the Pinnacles of Indian Thought, and inspired him to become what we see today as a beacon of the Great Indian Erudition, and an apostle of International Brotherhood and Peace. I might mention, it was Sri Ramakrishna who christened him Vivekananda - "Ecstasy of the Conscious".

(3) Thus Vivekananda combined in himself the Best of the West and the East. And therefore, can you now understand, what Subhash Bose, who considered Vivekananda the Pole-Star of his life, would be ?

(4) It is stunning to see that Nobody talks of Subhash Chandra Bose's Philosophy of NON-VIOLENCE. "What - Subhash Bose and NON-VIOLENCE ? Wasn't he the man that led the AZAD HIND ARMY against the British ? How could he be NON-VIOLENT then ?" Good Question - that is EXACTLY the Reason I speak about ANNA HAZARE's NON-VIOLENCE. Exactly the Reason I speak about it being DIFFERENT FROM GANDHI's. WHO could Represent Non-Violence, the INDIAN spirit of "AHIMSA" BETTER than the man who was BEST TRAINED IN INDIAN THOUGHT - VIVEKANANDA ? AND DO YOU THINK, SUBHASH BOSE, BEING THE DISCIPLE OF VIVEKANANDA, WOULD NOT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND WHAT "AHIMSA" OR NON-VIOLENCE REALLY MEANT, BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE ? AND DON'T YOU THINK, THAT STANDS FOR ANNA TOO ?

That is Exactly the Reason I Differentiate between Gandhi's and Anna Hazare's Non-Violence. The former was a Castle in the Air (and probably a Gimmick), while the latter is a TOWER OF INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD AND PEACE FIRMLY PLANTED IN REALITY. AND DON'T YOU THINK THEN, THAT IS TRUE FOR SUBHASH CHANDRA'S NON-VIOLENCE TOO ?

(Why did Anna Hazare then bow at Rajghat (Gandhi's Samadhi) ? I know, you're intelligent enough to figure that out yourself...the present atmosphere in our country is not conducive for a lot of words...)

(5) And if you want an idea of Subhash Chandra Bose's INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY and GENIUS, you might do well to know that he was ONE OF THE ONLY TWO INDIANS TO EVER MAKE IT TO THE BRITISH CIVIL SERVICES...in Conditions Extremely Discriminatory against Indians...SO MUCH SO, that outside the British Clubs and Theatres, hung the sign - "DOGS AND INDIANS NOT ALLOWED".

(6) And another Reason why Subhash Chandra Bose was truly Indian. When his Azad Hind Fauz entered Burma, he went and offered homage at Bahadur Shah Zafar's burial tomb. He was the Only Leader in the Indian National Movement to have done that. Further, he was the only one who united Hindus and Muslims in his Azad Hind Fauz with one call. Both Hindus and Muslims loved him, and were ready to sacrifice their lives at one beck from him. THAT'S THE STATURE HE HAD - A TRULY NATIONAL, INDIAN LEADER.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose understood NON-VIOLENCE NO LESS WELL than Gandhi, rather BETTER - MUCH, MUCH BETTER, for One, HE WAS A DISCIPLE OF SOMEONE NO OTHER THAN VIVEKANANDA, Two, HIS INTELLECT WAS AMONG THE SHARPEST OF NOT ONLY INDIANS, BUT GLOBALITES, and Three, he too like ANNA HAZARE, knew how to DIFFERENTIATE between VIOLENCE and PATRIOTISM.

I hope you find that helpful.

We therefore now need to stop calling just Gandhi's India...and rather start saying Subhash's India....Anna's India...

Victory to Anna ! Happy Long Life to Anna !

Jai Hind !

If you are looking for a "nice" story to read, you might go to -
A Major Reason of CORRUPTION could be that we're CARRYING A CORRUPT HISTORY WITHIN OURSELVES

Tell me how you found it to be.

Yep absolutely right summit,i am also a follower of guru Vivevakanad, guru bcoz he was not only a gr8 person but a gr8 human being who made surprise 2 the americans by addressing them 'brother & sisters' during his speech in U.S.A.,& how any true Indian can 4get about our dear Netaji, who has not only given this slogan'give me blood & I vl give u freedom'but also proved his saying up2 certain xten.He cr8ed d Azad Hind Fauj & also formed a women batalian but unfortunately Gandhi-Nehru duo was against his acts there4 he had 2 leave 4 Kabul & Russia & rest was a mystery, even Hitler also had a gr8 respect 4 him.Regarding Gandhiji & Nehruji, its written clearly in many of the Indian historical books that as Nehruji wanted 2 becm d P.M of India,so was Md.Jinnah,& as Nehruji was more close 2 Gandhiji,there4 Gandhiji decided 2 divide the country in2 Hindustan & Pakistan.

Hello Roop,

I'm so glad that you know and understand the truth.

You've spoken really well about Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and it encourages me to hope that they're still alive and sparking in a lot more of our Indian hearts, and our country has a future.

Let me lead you on to another secret then, one that might simply stun you out -

The British worked up a piece of legislation when they decided to Transfer Power to India. It was called "The Indian Independence Act, 1947". According to it, they declared that the President-in-Office of the Congress would be the First Prime Minister of the Dominion of India. When the Election for the Post of President of the Congress Core Committee was held, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel defeated Nehru by 12 to 1 votes out of the 15. So clearly, Sardar Patel would have been the First Prime Minister of India. But then something happened. Nehru went and met Gandhiji, and the latter came out and persuaded Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to relinquish the Post of the Congress President in favour of Nehru. That is how, Nehru became the First Prime Minister of India. (Run a search on Google for this, and you'll have numerous web-sites speaking the same thing.)

Now, my question is, WHAT happened in that meeting between Gandhi and Nehru ? WHAT words were exchanged between them ? EITHER Gandhi clearly preferred Nehru, or NEHRU might have by some way, whether straight or not, persuaded Gandhi to take such a step.

Now, I'd suggest you to read this -
A Major Reason of CORRUPTION could be that we're CARRYING A CORRUPT HISTORY WITHIN OURSELVES (LINK)
And then if possible tell me, or if not then just contemplate, whether the 'story' there might have any basis in the Real World ?

Thank You,

Best Wishes,

Summit.

Great Roop ! I'm impressed with your knowledge and understanding of our history...

That brings me to our next ideation. You must've already read my Post -
Was the Indian Independence Movement MORE INDIAN than GANDHIAN ?
If not, I'm dying to ask you go read it - but at the same time, I must let you know, it's a somewhat big one, and you might want to read it when you have enough time, and Patience... .... !!!

ONCE YOU READ IT, YOU'LL KNOW FACTS ABOUT 'QUIT INDIA'

You'll realise the Quit India Movement that we so credit with achieving Independence wasn't really so the one after all, and the Major Reason we won Freedom was Subhash Bose's Azad Hind Fauz. The Quit India Movement was certainly important, because of the National Fervour it raised against the British. But it certainly wasn't enough - National Fervour had been heightened many times right from 1857 with innumerable Revolts, Uprisings and Movements, but none had been successful in grabbing the star of our dreams - Independence. It was the Azad Hind Fauz that finally did it, breaking through the British Morale and sending one Cold Chill after another Down their Spine. Till then, Britain was a mighty Empire in which the Sun never Set for nearly 300 years; after Azad Hind, it Disappeared from the Face of the Earth in a mere Span of 20 years. That is the Effect !

("De di hamein Azaadi Bina Khadag Bina Dhaal, Sabarmati ke Sant toone Kar Diya Kamaal" - was this really so true after all ?)

WE'VE HURT OUR OWN LEADER

But Alas - India has forgotten the very Leader that brought her Independence - some due to the lack of knowledge, some being so lost in themselves that they don't care. The situation has come to such an extent that Netaji's name and the Azad Hind Fauz have been relegated to a miniscule in the posterior of our school history books, almost as if they are worthy only of an Unimportant, Passing Glance.

We've forgotten the Naval Revolt (Nau Vidroh) that happened right on the Footsteps of the Azad Hind. THAT was what broke the Nerves of the British. But open any school History textbook, and you'll find it diminished to only a few lines at the end. Our dear Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, had even gone as far as to say, that it was a Rebellion by the Navymen to "Increase their Own Salaries". Such a Shame !

And then when you look around yourself, you find all Major Government Institutions, Plans, Funds, Infrastructure and What Not - carrying the Names of Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi. Where did Netaji Evaporate ? Where did Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandrashekhar Azad, and millions of our other Freedom Fighters Evaporate ?

Shame of all, when the Mukherjee Commission Report on the disappearance of Netaji was tabled in the Parliament, the Government dismissed it WITHOUT CITING A SINGLE REASON. On being questioned, the government under Manmohan Singh put forward this Reply - "We have no information that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had any Role in the achievement of the Indian Independence." Seen that Audacity ? Vulgar, isn't it ? These are the MEN OF STRAW that Winston Churchill had talked about.

On the eve of the First Independence Day Parade, Netaji's Photo was brought in the Last Tableau, and in a Rather Uncared-for way. In the 65 Years of our Democracy, the Indian Government has insulted Netaji on every occasion and in every way possible, on one Pretext or the other. And we Indians, have always kept mum. We've Never Protested.

AND THEN WE SAY, WE WANT TO BE RID OF CORRUPTION

How can that happen, when we've been so ungrateful to the Leader who brought us our Independence ? We might think anything we want of ourselves - but the Truth is, God is there - and he'll never tolerate injustice. He WILL make us answer for our Thanklessness. Our Weak Intention to Honour and Celebrate our Greatest Leader is now Coming Back at us, showing up Within Ourselves as a Weak Intention to Fight Corruption. We've been Afraid of our Lives to Speak up in Favour of Bose, we're now Finding ourselves Afraid to Speak out against Corruption. We can Never Avoid it - Destiny Always Brings Everything Back in a Circle. There's no way we can escape - We WILL now have to answer for our misdeeds, our sin - our Thanklessness. Ingratitude will take its toll.

'Swarg Bhi Yaheen Hai, Narak Bhi Yaheen; Apne Karmon Ka Hisaab Hamein Yaheen Par Dekar Jaana Hoga...'

Years ago, Bose had said - 'Give me Blood, I'll Give You Freedom'. He had repeatedly made clear to his Japanese allies - "Once we enter India, the Indians will lead the fight. You will not. If Indians today want to build a great nation, then they'll have to wash the feet of their Motherland with their own blood." But, we probably didn't give enough. At least not for our Leader. Today, every moment that passes, I get more and more worried about our Second Freedom Struggle becoming a bloodbath. Concern always strikes deep that some time or the other, fenders of corruption will try to incite violence. Many more of us may have to shed our blood. Like Shaheed Shehla Masood - she has responded to the call of her Great Leader, and paid him her highest homage. I don't know how many more of us will have to, too.

"The Ghost of Caesar is Mightier Than Caesar Himself. Brutus will Not Escape."

GREATNESS WILL TAKE ITS PRICE

We all want India to be a Great Nation, but Greatness has its Price. And Weak Intentions can never pay enough for it. They just don't measure up in Value.

If we Desire our Peaks, Destiny will demand its Price. Father Time is Kaal, Destiny his sister - Kali, who's always just and fair. TILL THE DAY WE DO NOT GIVE OUR TRUE LEADER THE PLACE HE DESERVES, OUR MOTHER DESTINY - MAA KALI - WILL NOT LET US HAVE OURS EITHER. CHECK IT OUT ANYDAY AND SEE.

"Yaa Devi Sarva Bhuteshu Shakti Roopena Samasthitaa
Namastaswayh Namastaswayh Namastaswayh Namoh Namaha
."

Let me know how you feel.

Thanks,

Summit.
