Anna heads to Rajghat after govt’s no to fast

New Delhi: On a day when he was denied permission to hold fast over the Lokpal Bill, Gandhian activist Anna Hazare, in a symbolic move, on Monday went to Rajghat and sat close to Bapu’s samadhi.

Reports said Anna is accompanied by more than 200 people, including his close associates Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sesodia.


Anna said that he will not speak anything for now. Currently, he is meditating close to Bapu's samadhi.

The move has fuelled speculation as to whether Anna has chosen Mahatma Gandhi’s samadhi as his venue to sit on indefinite fast against the government’s draft Lokpal Bill.

Earlier today the Delhi Police rejected an undertaking submitted by Team Anna to sit on fast tomorrow at Jai Prakash Narain Memorial Park in central Delhi.
