Anna Hazare : Govt Efforts on Lokpal not Sincere

On the ninth day of his indefinite fast, Anna Hazare refused to relent and charged that the government was not serious about fighting corruption.

Addressing supporters at Ramlila Ground, Anna Hazare said that the government's efforts were not sincere as it did not want to end corruption.

He said the government is opposing the inclusion of lower bureaucracy under the ambit of Lokpal, whereas it is the poor in the villages who are the worst affected by the menace of corruption.

Asking supporters not to worry about his health, Anna said he had lost over six kgs in the last nine days but was still feeling fit.

Stating that there were three points of differences, Anna said he will not back off from his fast till the govt agreed on them even if he died in the process.

He also urged supporters not to take extreme steps like self-immolation.
