You are 100 % correct. The MPs, MLAs, Central and state ministers, IAS & IPS officers are projected as some one above law.If the forth coming Anti corruption BILL is strong enough to punish them without any delay, I assure you the demand for MLA & MP seats will go begging.

In democracy, the people are the leaders - wake up!!

In India leaders and senior administrative officers are biggest corrupted. In government lokpal bill both are out of reach of lokpal. Then Question is that this lokpal is for whome?
The people in a democracy should know well that they are in power and control, and not those who are elected who are the servants of the desh, the people.

America got democracy by fighting against the British who wanted to tax them without giving them rights. They learned all the lessons during the fight, and drafted the constitution considering all those lessons.

In contrast, the leaders of Bhaarat in 1947 mostly took the constitution from the British, and made it ant-Hindu then and later by amendments. The independence came so easily that general people did not know how democracy works. Those bad guys who knew it exploited democracy, and while singing the songs of Gandhi, they did not have any saintly quality of decency like Gandhi. Corruption is non-violent, and so they do it.

But those who pay bribes are equally at fault. The real response to any demand for bribe is to resist and fight. So, is happening now.

It is dharma that teaches ethics and morals.
Andy any time when people become adharmi,a nd give up ethics and morals, corruption and other ills will crop up in society.

Therefore the Vedas says:

|| vayam raashtre jaagrujaam ||

Always remain vigilant to protect the best interest of nation.

Never beg anything from Gov.; DEMAND with force and confidence.

jai sri krishna!

Congratulations for first baby step Anna Hazare ji

Please accept my Congratulations. In future let corrupt people not get elected either by endorsing people by this committee or fielding independent honest people who would do good for public. The present system is rotten to the core.
Best of luck.

A Scope of Hope.......so why not to try?

Nearly after 65 years of Independance a mass India has been visualized at Jantar Mantaar New Delhi for Jan Lok Pal Bill. It was such an streight and meaningfull thing against our desease named corruption. But this is not even 0.1% also against such a deep and strongly hold system. In the country of nearly 130 crores people, where more then 50% are living below poverty line. This war is just a warm up guys....... Final tak pahunchane me kai Jantar Mantar aane baki hai. The word India against corruption is not just a group of three words but its a symbol of "The war of Independance". Our goverment and goverment officials follow corruption in such a way what a common man can even thing about his fundamental rights. Its a war for our fundamental rights. why we alway are on our knees in front of these corrupt champs. why we elect these bull craps and why we encourage them for our small benifit. we'll have to be one. we'll have to be a sword which can cut this corruction tree from root....

Today I have wake up...... please you also wake up....

Firstly through a single point of corruption from our self then fight for others.

It would be an understatement to say that most of the political leaders do not want to eliminate corruption. Corruption sustains them, it maintains them and they both survive and thrive on it. They will, rather, go all out to see that the movement against corruption is derailed and discredited. Despite what the congress leadership and even the prime minister (all small letters, please) say in the open for public consumption, the party and the government have let loose some hounds to do the howling. Diggy Raja is the main hitman of congress party and he is doing his job of 'hit and run' with consummate political skill and acumen. He and others let loose to do this job are confident that the members of civil society are basically civil and therefore it would not be possible for them to stand up to this calumny campaign. Relying on this characteristic of the drafting committee members, they have sharpened their attack. If Justice Hegde gives in and resigns, they will have succeeded in their mission. The members of civil society have to show some maturity here and stick to the task at hand. Let them attack as much as they want. We must not buckle under pressure. Our immediate task is to help draft an effective Lokpal bill. We want to utilize the expertise of the Bhushans and all others associated with the task of drafting. We must not be afraid of the pitfalls. We are not going to fall into them. Is it not said that if you dig pitfalls for others, you fall into them? In an informal chat with some members of intelligentsia, I was asked why are they not being changed by Annaji? Why should they be, I asked and wanted to know from them if they thought the Bhushans were paid for the services they were expected to offer, or did they think they were not competent to do the job? No one had any doubt about their competence. That's it. Let them help draft an effective bill and let that institution of lokpal be used against them if those raising these many questions think they have an issue here. Civil society will not come and hinder them.

Angry Corruption - Top heavy

Mr.Digvijay Singh keeps attacking members of the Civil Society members. He now apologises to Justice Hegde. Is that enough? Can one commit murder, apologise and get away. He obviously has the brief from the top to keep attacking the Civil Society members. Congress high command claims to have full control on all its members. How long would it take the High Command (read Mrs.Sonia Gandhi) to reign him in? She will write a nice letter to Anna Hazareji and behind his back, allow Mr.Digvijay Singh to keep attacking. And the general public has to accept this!

And see today's Newspaper. Our Prime Minister is quoted as having told Civil Servants " I expect you to be honest and fearless in advising your superior authorities..." May I know what moral authority Dr. Manmohan Singh has, to say this? He has not practised this, even with reference to his subordinates. I was a great admirer of Dr.Manmohan Singh till recently. Now feel cheated that he has allowed so much corruption to take place in his Government. If he could not curb it, he should have atleast resigned in protest. Lusting for power is also corruption.

Couldn't have been more true

You couldn't have been more true, Mr. Gregory. You have put your hand at the right place. You have, like all other Indians with common sense and desire to see the end of this monster, felt the pulse of these politicians. They are scared. That is why they are out to create such a din that we lose sight of the immediate task at hand. This is what we all need to understand and guard against.

The one thing that has shaken them out of their slumber is the fact that the whole country appears to have realized that these corrupt politicians can be shoved to the jail where they could languish for the rest of their life. The mere thought of it has unnerved them, especially when they saw people from all walks of life responding to the call of Anna with so much of gusto and enthusiasm. They were relying heavily on the short memory theory. Let them not forget Baba Ramdev is also waiting in the wings. If the congress and the government create a situation where Anna Hazare is forced to retreat(highly unlikely though), Baba Ramdev will descend on the scene and maybe by that time Anna will regroup and then....it is anybody's guess. Congress should therefore come out of that ivory tower and face the reality, rein in their hounds and go by what the Civil Society has proposed.
