Yes, we do wish to rid ourselves of corruption. But at the same time we are aware of the fact that corruption has become so much integrated with our day to day life that it has almost become the second nature. Just as we brush our teeth every morning, so also we indulge in corrupt practices instances of which are given in the above write up in Hindi. We take to corruption with the same ease with which fish takes to water. It is ingrained in our blood. We do not know of a life where corruption can be absent. It's eradication will therefore look well-nigh impossible. If we are convinced it is possible to get rid of it, we'll definitely like to get rid of it because we are all aware of the fact that it has destroyed our normal civilized way of living. We know smoking is injurious to health, yet many of us smoke. But even those who smoke know it is not good and would like to give it up if only they could. So is the case with corruption. Despite its all-encompassing and omni presence phenomenon, we all want to get rid of it. What is required is a push that will throw it out. Anna Hazare has demonstrated the strength of that push. Only we should not slacken our determination in the face of the odds that are presented and need to be surmounted. Old habits die hard. Give it a determined push. It will go.

No. It is not ingrained in our blood.

It is ingrained in the system.

Cool We created system, system did not create us

First we created system and then we became part and parcel of that system. System is as good or bad as we made it. I fondly hope what you say is right. But the question is--is it really so?

poor system results in corruption

Yes i want to go against corruption. To root out corruption we need four things abailable on internet 1- unique database of each and every citizen of india upto village label. (numberic identity may given) 2- Unique database of land record upto village lebel (who owns how much) 3- unique database of criminal records upto thana level (who is charged and how many times) 4- unique database of bank accounts (who hold how many acc). If we cannot maintain above four things then i will like to say only that poor system results in corruption.................

Every country and every society has people who are

1) Thoroughly corrupt
2) Thoroughly incorruptible
3) The in-betweens.

The first two types are hardly affected by the system, but the third type is.

Hurricane Katrina was proof enough.

So, in your scheme of things, there are no honest people!

The fate of an honest man

A gentleman and complete honest man retired from a post in govt. office where money was floating over his head but he didn't fall prey throughout his service span. Because he was not taking bribes, he was not allowing others too. The result- He was suspended 2 times on flimsy grounds and his pension was delayed for a year.
After retirement, he moved to his village for a clean and peaceful life. An electricity pole in front of his house fell in the storm. To restore that pole, he approached the concerned office but disappointed when asked for a chai-paani to restore the electric pole. He approached every higher-ups but his work couldn't be done. Finally, he lodged a complaint in a local consumer court. It has been 6-7 years, he is still frequenting consumer court. No need of telling further that he lives in darkness as on today. Had he paid Rs 50-100, he might have saved a lot of money spent on frequenting consumer court. Now it is up to you to conclude if corruption can be removed or reduced from India. I do not intend to discourage the people who are involved in this movement but?
