As the Dream got it’s roots right in my heart .......

Dears,

Let me invite you to experience a street theater from Kerala with a great theme. I am sorry if the language (Malayalam) offers you some difficulties to understand in full … still we have to overcome such barriers when our nation calls us for such a unity (to struggle for noble causes) above all diversities in our country. So, I translate the main theme of the poem as below.

A Request: Wherever you find the word Free India Now, read it as a Corruption free India

Don't miss to see below program in YouTube.

Even while crumbling in his dark cell of prison with a fractured leg,
My father (achan) acquired a dream (swapna), a dream for my young generation,
A heroic dream about a free India, and such an India will endure and rise…….

I will never allow any one to steal this(dream) away, as it was given to me by my beloved dad..
And the dream got it’s roots right in my heart, and the dream got it’s roots right in my heart.

Jai Hind

Dear Jayakumar,

A very good poem, a very good dream.

Let's hope it comes true. Let's work to make it come true.

Thanks for the posting.

Dream the driver

Everything the world has achieved so far is because someone dared to dream. Dream is the greatest truth. Dream is the only driver. It drives people; it drives society; it drives nation and it drives the world. Plato's Theory of Ideas is nothing but theory of dreams. Plato was asked by one of his disciplines as to how could he rate ideas higher than reality. Plato explained. The building you see in front of you is twice removed from reality. This building is a mere copy of the blue print an engineer may have made. This blue print that the engineer made is a copy of what he or someone else developed building as an idea. So idea is the first thing which was copied in the shape of blue print which again was copied by way of construction of building that you and I occupy. So this building you claim to be real is actually twice removed from the reality. The reality in this case is idea.
This idea is what I call dream. So long as we are capable of dreaming, there are possibilities. When we cease to dream, we cease to exist and then everything goes topsy-turvy. In the recent past if things have gone haywire with politicians having engaged themselves in all kinds of corrupt practices, it is largely because we have stopped being dreamers. Or even if we have been dreaming, it is very localised, not like the one we find in the poetic exuberance of Jaykumar. Let's dream big: let's dream having rid the country of all that is rotten and corrupt. Jai Hind.

Dear Jayakumar, please re-write your piece as "Have you seen the program/me also in youtube?" A thing stated correctly always carries more weight and respect. Please.

Dear Sinha ji,

Come on Sinha ji. This is not an English learning site/course we are running. I don't mind when you correct my mistakes. It is the same thing we are trying to do when we criticizes the politicians/Govt. through the IAC site. The same things are applicable to us too.

There is a psycology when dealing with a team. when team lead correct an individual, better he do it in secret. When he admire/appreciate him/her, do it in public.

Let's encourage all (including those who does'nt have confidence on his language proficiency) to write and come forward and express their ideas for the movement.

With Regards

Jayakumar

Jayakumarji,

If I were in your place, I would have profusely thanked someone correcting my errors publicly or privately instead of being peeved at being corrected. Learning is a continual process and there does not have to be any specific site for that. But yes, we need to encourage people to come forward with their ideas and make their contributions and language should not be a barrier. But in the bargain, if they get to learn something, what's the harm? After all, we spend our fortune to learn things in schools and colleges which have turned into business houses. Why mind if something comes free of cost?

Remember Dr. Radhakrishnan, our president and a great scholar internationally acclaimed for his knowledge! He was ready to learn from anybody even when he was on his death-bed. Are we anything before him? I have shed my ego. I don't mind if there is something to learn from anywhere and in any guise. This Anna movement itself has taught me many things. But I thank you indeed for your observations/suggestions.

I chanced to read this in another forum today, and thought this has a message or two for us all.

Ganesan. :~)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May be hilarious but it had its own effect, which we do not appreciate.
COMPLAINT LETTER TO THE RAILWAYS IN 1909!!!
Okhil Babu's letter to the Railway department:
I am arrive by passenger train Ahmedpur station and my belly is too much swelling with jackfruit. I am therefore went to privy. Just I doing the nuisance that guard making whistle blow for train to go off and I am running with lotaah in one hand and dhoti in the next when I am fall over and expose all my shocking to man and female women on platform. I am got leaved at Ahmedpur station. This too much bad, if passenger go to make dung that dam guard not wait train five minutes for him. I am therefore pray your honour to make big fine on that guard for public sake. Otherwise I am making big report to papers.
Okhil Chandra Sen wrote this letter to the Sahibganj divisional railway office in 1909. It is on display at the Railway Museum in New Delhi. It was also reproduced under the caption Travellers Tales in the Far Eastern Economic Review.
Any guesses why this letter is of historic value?
.
.
.
It led to the introduction of TOILETS in trains in India.....!!!!
So please don't think any idea is stupid and discard it.
so next Time when u sheshe in the Train Remember OKHIL CHANDRA SEN
Dear Ganesan,
Very interesting story of a man who ran in to the history of Indian Railways. This story reminded me the running of Archimedes screaming "Eureka... Eureka.."
Indian railways continues with (almost) same type of latrines even after one century. Why? May be lack of pubic response the kind OKHIL CHANDRA SEN had done.
Thanks for your posting.
Regards
Jayakumar
Simply great
Without doubt a sample worth retaining. Idea is always the first thing. Plato had called it the REALITY. Its important for another reason as well. India was then just beginning to learn English. Its like your ten year old son trying to write an essay for the first time. He has just picked up something and it is his urge to write in a language not his own. But he evinces interest in it for its novelty. In 1909 India was passing through that stage. So, it needs to be appreciated and you deserve kudos for having fished it out for our information. A great job indeed and worth preserving.
A resounding thanks to you.
