Job description

Working closely with the VP Human Resources based at Chennai, the Manager, Compensation and Benefits will act as the leading expert in Murugappa Group on all compensation and benefit matters. The successful candidate will support business objectives and budgetary goals with appropriate suggestions/plans for C&B and HRIS Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

* Support and, on occasions, lead development of Reward and HRIS plans and supporting tools
* Oversee senior level international assignments and relocations
* Direct and manage C&B and HRIS project team
* Lead professional or senior manager. Recognised authority in content area
* Works under consultative direction, acting independently towards longer-range business goals
* Influence decisions of senior roles. Makes key operational and commercial decisions within guidelines and with broad impact
* Commit internal audiences to course of action through persuasive communication
* Act as a change agent through matrixed relationships across Business Units
* Apply specialised techniques to resolve highly complex and diverse problems. Identify, investigates and recommend solutions to recurring problems
* Impact of actions is demonstrated in immediate and medium term, and across Business Units
* Support wider HR projects as required

Required Skills and Background

* Significant experience of designing and implementing compensation and benefit strategy and plans Lead implementation of group-wide projects at local level
* Full range of operational management skills and leading edge knowledge of own area of expertise
* Substantial experience as a HR practitioner or Business Partner in an international HR environment, with either broad knowledge across a wide range of HR disciplines and expertise in one or more disciplines
* Fluent in English- written and verbal. Any additional language being a plus.
* Strong PC skills and good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Result- and detail- oriented; excellent follow-through skills
* Ability to multitask and make good decisions quickly
* Strong Leadership
* Advanced communication/negotiation skills
* Ability to engage and influence others
