Admissions 2009-10 (Will commence from February 2009)

PG Diploma : Advertising & Marketing COMMUNICATION (1 year full time)

Eligibility : Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognized University. Preference will be given to those with aptitude for creativity, copywriting and communication skills.

PG Diploma : PUBLIC RELATIONS AND EVENT MANAGEMENT (1 year full time)

Eligibility : Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognized University. Preference will be given to those who have an aptitude for creativity and managing events.

PG Diploma : TELEVISION AND RADIO PRODUCTION (1 year full time)
with focus on:
BROADCAST JOURNALISM / NEWS REPORTING / ANCHORING & VIDEO EDITING
Eligibility : Bachelors degree or equivalent. Preference will be given to those with an aptitude for creative imagination and communication skills.

M.A in Journalism & Mass Communication ( Full time : 2 year programme)
Eligibility : Bachelors degree or equivalent (10+2+3) from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate. This course of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (a unit of Apeejay Institute of Management & IT) is affiliated with UGC recognized Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The University has been granted 5 star + status.

Admission Procedure
Application : The admission process for the academic session 2009-10 will be on from February 2009. Admission notification advertisements will be released in leading English and Hindi dailies during March - June 2009.

How to apply:
Prospectus can be obtained from the Institute or the Apeejay Stya House (14, Commercial Complex, G.K. II, New Delhi) on payment of Rs.750/- in cash or by post by sending DD for Rs.800/- in favour of "Apeejay Insititute of Mass Communication", payable at New Delhi.

The aspiring candidates should return the Application Forms duly filled in to the Admissions office by the stipulated date addressed to :

Completed downloaded application forms to be sent alongwith a DD of Rs.800/- in favour of
"Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication", payable at New Delhi.

The applications are carefully screened for superior academic performance / communication skills, creative aptitude, interests and extra curricular accomplishments of the candidates.

Admission Test:
Candidates are required to appear for the entrance test conducted at the institute campus between May and June each year. The actual dates shall be intimated separately.

Total Marks 100, Duration 1 hr. at Apeejay campus, New Delhi
There will be two Sections: Objective & Subjective questions comprising:
i. General Awareness, General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 marks).
ii. Questions related to the field of chosen area. (50 Marks)

There will be Direct Admission for those students with 60% and above marks in graduation, those pursuing final year but have 60% & above marks in their first two years, are exempt from the written test. However, they have to appear before the interview panel.

Admission offer:
After careful evaluation of the previous academic record, performance in the admission test / interview, the Admission Committee prepares a list of selected candidates. Preference will be given to those who display the required aptitude in subjects of the course applied for.

AIMC Guidelines:
Candidates will be eligible for sitting in the examination of each semester after being certified for the following by the Head of the Department.
- of having been enrolled in the department of the course.
- Of having a good moral character.
- Of having 75 per cent of the lectures delivered.

All in-service candidates must produce a 'No Objection Certificate' or 'Study Leave' from the employer at the time of admission.

HOSTEL FEE:

It's a "First Come First Serve" basis accommodation; hence it is in your interest that you take necessary action at the earliest.
a) The total hostel fee will be Rs.5,300/-* per month (Rs.3,300/- as lodging charge and the balance Rs.2,000/- as mess charges)
b) A caution money for Rs.5,000/- (refundable) will have to be paid at the time of admission in the beginning.
* The Hostel Fee may undergo marginal revision.
