What democracy is he talking about? Corruption is what is undermining democracy and its institutions. This is one more attempt by the Congress and its leaders to create fear in the minds of the common man and prevent us from coming out of the current rut. Can Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar promise and ensure a corrupt free democratic institution with the current crop of politicians and self styled leaders, irrespective of their political party?
What use is of democracy as prevalent now, when an RTI activist is either beaten up or killed? The Common man has no other option but to have a very effective and strong Lokpal to have genuine democracy.
