The women's reservation bill is an anathema to gender equality since it prohibits 50% of the population, the men, to contest from certain constituencies simply because they are male. This is an apartheid. Women have not been prohibited from contesting and winning on their own merit then why have reservations? If there are more men in parliament and state assemblies, it is not because women have been prohibited but it is because the men have competed and won. Soon after the reservations in parliament and state legislatures, there would be demands for reservations in govt. and private jobs. After that, out of turn promotions for women! Tax exemptions could follow. All because women have managed to get politically organised and the men are hoodwinked into believing the feminist theories. Its time that the men wake up and start fighting back!
